Wilma Opal Lusk was born the third child to Isaac and Bonnie Sharp on October 2, 1922 in Grinnell, Iowa. She graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1940.
Following her education, she worked for the Department of the Army during WWII and then became an employee of the Veteran's Administration in Des Moines, Iowa. She was married to James D. Lusk shortly after WWII. She worked for the Veteran's Administration until her retirement with 30 years of service. One of her great pleasures was assisting veterans with educational benefits.
Opal is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lusk of Roselle, Illinois; her brother, James Sharp of Newton; two granddaughters, Anna Lusk Trim of Granger, Indiana and Katherine Lusk of Elkhart, Indiana; and one great granddaughter, Lauren Trim.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Alma Bates and Doris Krumm; and her brother Floyd Sharp.
