Bill was born the son of Tom and Ethel Hasley McGinn on April 28, 1916, in Searsboro, Iowa. He graduated from Searsboro High School. He married Alberta Henderson in 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. They later divorced. In August 1958, he married Neva M. Hughes Lathrop in Raymond, Nebraska. He worked for McGinn Brothers Trucking before moving to Grinnell. For twelve years, he was employed by Donaldson's as a custodian and later Bill worked for Grinnell College in the maintenance and custodial departments before retiring in 1974. Bill is survived by his step-son, Howard (Beverly) McVay of Phoenix, Arizona; five step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren; nine step-great great grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bill passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. He was 91 years and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Neva in 2006; and his brothers, James and Eldon McGinn.
