Obituary

Bill was born on July 26, 1934, in Ladora, Iowa, to John and Lucille Shaull Feller Jr. He was raised in the Ladora area and attended rural schools. In 1952, he graduated from Ladora High School. On June 5, 1955, he was married to Sharlee Rathjen. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm near Ladora, and were the parents of four children. He also raised pure-bred Belgian and North American Spotted Draft Horses. Bill was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Belgian and North American Spotted Draft Horse Associations and was a charter member of the Ladora Saddle Club. He had a passion for quarter horses, especially work horses, and sharing his passion with others. He also enjoyed participating in threshing and plowing with his horses over the years. He loved taking his team of horses and wagon to parades and the Victor Christmas Celebration, as well as giving newlyweds a ride around town after their wedding. Bill spent a lot of time attending his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time in his work shop. Survivors include his wife, Sharlee Feller of Ladora; four children, Billie Sue (Kevin) Wille and Curt (Connie Fultz) Feller, both of Ladora, John Feller of Marengo and Cindy Petz of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Chelsey Markert, Cody Wille, Adam Petz and Jackson Petz; and one sister, Carol Rathjen of Ladora. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Lou Feller, who died in infancy. Memorials may be directed to the William E. Feller Memorial Fund.
