William H. Bailey, 60, of Grinnell died on August 7, 2019, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Bill Bailey Memorial Fund. Bill was born on August 24, 1958, in Grinnell, the son of John "Bud" and Genevieve Mae Paulson Bailey. He grew up on the family farm near Newburg and was a 1976 graduate of Grinnell High School. On May 21, 1983 he was united in marriage with Kathy Garr, in Newburg; a union of 36 years of loving devotion. The couple continued farming on the Bailey family farm until 1992. Bill was employed at Central County Co-op in Kellogg for 14 years and then he was employed as a truck driver for several years. Lately, he worked for Monsanto/Bayer Company east of Grinnell. Bill loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He loved the outside in God's creation. Bill enjoyed working with Oliver tractors and knew the value of hard work. He desired to be out west in the Sandhill's of Nebraska and the Big Horns of Wyoming. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Grinnell; five children, Luke (Rebecca) Bailey of Lynnville, Molly (Dan) DeKorne of Grinnell, Jake (Elizabeth) Bailey of Carroll, Ben Bailey of Grinnell, and Hank (Emma) Bailey of Grinnell; 8 grandchildren and three expecting; one sister, Kathie Karamoschos of North Carolina; and two brothers, Ed Bailey of Gilman and Jim (Billie) Bailey of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Peggy Paxton and Bonnie Casey.
