Wilbur was born on October 14, 1920, on the family farm south of Victor, Iowa to Guy and Lena Walton Shine. He was raised on the family farm, attended rural school and graduated from Victor High School with the Class of 1938. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942, he was married to Lois Marie Yeo in Memphis, Missouri. The couple farmed south of Victor until 1976 when they moved into Victor. He continued to farm until a few years ago. He was a member of the New Convenant-United Methodist Church of Victor and he was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Lois Shine of Victor; one daughter, Barbara Johnson of Beaman, IA; one son, Dennis Shine of Victor; and one sister, Virginia Romberg of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gladys Uridil and Joan Wagner.
