Ward Meyer, 80, of Victor, died on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Brooklyn Community Estates in Brooklyn.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor and his family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday at Victor Memorial Cemetery.

Ward William Meyer was born the son of Rudolph and Estella (Van Hamme) Meyer on March 31, 1942, in Grinnell, Iowa. He was raised in Victor and graduated from HLV High School in Victor with the class of 1961.
Following his education, Ward was employed by George Weiss and Tom Bowman. In the late 1960's, he was employed at the Victorian Inn and later was an officer with the Victor Police Department from 1970 – 1979. He cleaned the Victor Post Office for several years and enjoyed taking on odd jobs. In his retirement years, he served as the traffic controller for funeral processions held at the Smith Funeral Home. Ward will be remembered for his love of socializing with friends and strangers, for his quick wit and ability to tell jokes, and for his love of trains.
Ward is survived by his sister, Germaine (Terry) Hall of Brooklyn; nephews, Tony (Mindy) Hall of Grinnell, IA, Doug (Sandi) Hall of Lenzburg, IA, and Kurt (Nancy) Hall of Holiday Lake near Brooklyn; 6 great nieces; and 7 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great niece, Chelsea Weekley.
