Virginia "Ginny" Kay Hall, 75, of Montezuma, IA passed away on December 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, IA.

**A shortened graveside service will still be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, following the 10:30 am service at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell, IA.**

A luncheon will be held at the Grinnell Eagles Club from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Memorials may be made payable to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude's Hospital mailed in c/o Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Virginia was born on November 14, 1950, in Grinnell, IA to Hollis Homer and Addie Marie (McDowell) Elliott. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated with the Grinnell High School class of 1968.

Virginia was first married in high school to Carroll Benson, and to this union she had three children, Tammy, Tony, and Tracey.

On April 20, 1979, Virginia was united in marriage to Jim Hall in Grinnell, IA.

Virginia worked numerous jobs throughout the years, at Montezuma Manufacturing, Grinnell College, and Miracle Rec.

Virginia has lived at Lake Ponderosa since 1995. She enjoyed swimming, reading, playing games, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, her children, Tammy (Steve) Beenken, Tony (Michele) Benson, and Tracey Benson, her grandchildren, Hannah Beenken, Braden Beenken, Colton Benson, Luke Benson, and Caitlyn (Kyle) Krier, her siblings, Larry (Marilyn) Deppe, Richard Elliott, and Vicki (Norman) Henderson, sister-in-law, Sandy Deppe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her parents, Hollis and Addie, her siblings, Jerry Deppe, and Chuck Deppe, her nephew, Chad Burkett, and her sister-in-law, Sandy Sanger-Elliott.
