Thomas
Loucks
June 29, 1959 – November 29, 2025
Thomas Joseph Loucks peacefully departed this earth November 29th surrounded by family and friends following complications from a stroke. The son of G Thomas and Mary (Cretzmeyer) Loucks was born in Waverly, Iowa on June 29th 1959. His family moved to Grinnell in 1961 and Tom lived there most of his life. He graduated from Grinnell Senior High in 1978 and attended Simpson College. He excelled in many sports including football, basketball and golf.
Tom never met a stranger and was the life of any party that was fortunate enough to have him on the guest list. He always had a smile on his face and a friendly word for everyone he met. He was a big sports fan with the Hawkeyes, Tigers and Lions being his teams (even had a Lions customized golf cart). Did someone say golf. Tom was an avid golfer who achieved the rarest feat in golf, carding an albatross on the 4th hole at Grinnell GCC.
Tom met the love of his life, Michele. Those crazy kids then retired and moved to the Villages in Florida. They spent the next two years traveling the world and living life to the fullest. He quickly acquired a whole new group of good Florida friends.
Tom loved and cherished his family. He is survived by his partner Michele Theulen, his son Nathan (who was his proudest accomplishment), sister Anne Loucks, sister Jane (Pat) Fleming, brother Carney (Laura) Loucks and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Loucks.
A celebration of life worthy of such a remarkable man is scheduled for Friday, May 8th, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Grinnell Eagles Club.
Cheers to a life well lived! We'll miss you Tommy!
