Theresa Jean Wissmiller died on November 4, 2023 in Grinnell, Iowa.

Jean was born on October 26, 1934, in Paxton, Illinois, to Claude and Vera Stine. She was graduated from Paxton High School as Valedictorian and went on to receive BA and MA degrees from the University of Illinois, earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa and a place on the Bronze Tablet for scholarship excellence.

She married William Louis Wissmiller of Gibson City in June of 1957.

Jean taught English in high schools in Illinois before moving with her family to Grinnell, IA, where she established a small business. She was an active member of the League of Women Voters and the IGCA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill. She is survived by a daughter Ann of Denver, IA, a son Paul of Minneapolis, MN, two grandchildren and a sister, Margaret, of Madison, WI.

Cremation has taken place at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell and no visitation is planned. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
