Teresa Jean Reitzler, 72, of Grinnell, died Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, surrounded by her family.

Teresa's Family will receive friends at a visitation held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, IA.

Teresa was born July 19, 1951 in Red Oak to Raymond and Phyllis Rydberg Kirchert. Teresa graduated from Essex High School with the class of 1969. Following school, she worked for GTE and Bell as a telephone operator and lastly for Windstream until 2011. While working for the telephone company she met Frank. They were married on March 8, 1975 at the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Essex, IA. To this union, two sons were born Lynn in 1976 and Todd in 1979.

Teresa enjoyed going to the movies with Lynn and watching Todd race. She also enjoyed taking pictures of family members, watching game shows, NASCAR, soap operas and smelling flowers that Frank grew.

Teresa is survived by her family: Husband Francis (Frank) of Grinnell; two sons: Lynn (& Todd Kirsch) of Dallas Center and Todd (& Clarissa); grandchildren: Lucas Reitzler, Jaxon Reitzler, Andrew (Yumi) Oelmann and Benjamin Oelmann; great-grandchildren: Lawrence Oelmann and Audrianna Oelmann; siblings: Les (& Carla) Kirchert, Pat (& Larry) Athen, Becky (& Dan) DeVries, MaryAnn (& Mike) Major; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Phyllis; and two brothers: Randall and Alan Kirchert.
