Sherry L. Chapman, 74, of Grinnell and formerly of Newton, died at her home on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

A celebration of her life will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 (her birthday) at 8784 Highway 6 East, Kellogg, IA 50135 with family and friends. A private family interment will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Union Cemetery in Newton.

Sherry Lynn Chapman was born the daughter of Allen Franklin Chapman and Ina (Brookshier) Chapman-Peterson on September 18, 1949 in Newton, Iowa. She was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1968.

Sherry loved spending time with her family, shopping and enjoying the company of her dog Baby.

Those left to honor Sherry's memory are her children, Micky Lust (William Hurbert), Monte (Mishone) Lust, and Brian Chapman, all from Newton; her grandchildren, Johnna Waskow, Chaz Howard, Brenna (Abbie) Lust-Smith, Riley Lust, Alainna (Jace) Hackworth and McKenzie Callison; great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Kyla, Amante and Hollis; sisters, Regina (Chris) Roush, Celene (Jeff) Roush, Jessie Armstrong, Ellen Chapman and Dori (Dave) Harvey; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Chapman; sister, Sondra Chapman; and step mom, LaVonne Chapman.
