Sharen Ann Postels, age 66, of Grinnell and formerly of Newton, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Grinnell Health Care Center.
A graveside service and burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2nd, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, north of Grinnell.

Sharen was born on May 6, 1953, in Newton, the daughter of Veldon Gene and Anna Ruth Bonnett Broyles. She was raised in Newton and was a 1971 graduate of Newton High School.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Hostetter in 1971, in Newton and to this union they had one son, Gabriel. In 1977, she was re-married to Richard Postels in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had four children, Greg, James, Kristin and Kayla. They were married until the mid-1990's.
Sharen lived in Grinnell most of her life and for several years managed a laundry/dry cleaning business in Grinnell. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching TV talk shows, and singing and playing her guitar at several nursing homes in Grinnell. She loved raising her pet dog, Shiloh.
Survivors include her children, Gabriel Hostetter of Des Moines, Greg of Grinnell, James of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kristin of Ames, and Kayla of Denver, Colorado; her twin sister, Karen (Allan) Van Genderen of Newton, her brother, Jerry (Jan) Broyles of Newton; her granddaughter, Gracie Butler; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Danny Broyles and Veldon Broyles in infancy.
