Scott Armstrong, 51, of Grinnell died July 22, 2006, at his home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, at the Chariton Cemetery in Chariton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923. The son of Richard and Lois Ann Armstrong, he was born August 3, 1954, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He later moved to Carlisle where he was a graduate of Carlisle High School. He was also a graduate of Iowa State University and received a master's degree at Drake University. He was briefly employed in the Des Moines metro area prior to moving to Grinnell. He was employed at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in the Human Resources Department. Scott enjoyed watching sports on TV, gardening, and cooking. Survivors include his father, Richard of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one son, Ryan Armstrong of St. Paul, Minnesota; one sister, Julie (Lance) Grotewold of Oskaloosa; one brother, Dan (Ruth) Armstrong of Schwetzingan, Germany; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ann Armstrong.
