Sandy Evans, 72, of Tama and formerly of Grinnell, died at her residence on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Services are pending at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

Sandra Gail Evans was born on June 8, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alexander and Elsie (McClintock) Bardin. She was raised and educated in Illinois.

On August 2, 1980, she was united in marriage to Corey Evans at La Jolla, California. They were blessed with a daughter, Rebecca. This union later ended in divorce and Sandy moved from California to Iowa.

Sandy worked at Grinnell College as a custodian. She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

Sandy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time with Lilly. She will be remembered for her love to help others and brighten others' spirits with cards.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Evans and her fiancé, Drew Schuett of Tama; her grandchildren, Treven Schuett and Shawna Schuett; her brother, Bruce (Lori) Bardin of Florida, and her foster brother, Floyd (Sandy) Page. She was preceded in death by her parents; her foster parents George and Esther Page; her foster sisters Peggy (Ron) Kuhn and Bentley Page.
