Sandra Kay (Kaisand) Gregory, 75, of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Newburg, Iowa died December 2, 2015 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at the Newburg-Chester Congregational Church, 15212 Newcomer Avenue, Newburg, with Rev. John Epperson officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be held two hours prior to service time (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) at the church. Memorials suggested to the ALS Association, Nebraska Chapter, 10730 Pacific Street, Suite 103, Omaha, Nebraska 68114. Sandy was born July 1, 1940, in Toledo, IA. Her family worked farms near Newburg and she graduated from Newburg High School in 1958. She lived in Des Moines, IA; Fort Madison, IA; Kennewick, WA; Crystal Lake, IL; Santa Maria, CA; San Ramon, CA; and most recently, Omaha, NE. Sandy was also a world traveler. Through her work with Chevron Overseas Petroleum, she travelled to Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Europe. Her leisure travel took her to Germany, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, France, Croatia, Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Caribbean islands, and Scandinavia. One of her proudest accomplishments was completing her bachelor's degree in history after retirement at the age of 69. She was also very proud of her children and grandchildren and was never hesitant to sing their praises. Her family was her highest priority and she was always quick to offer help when needed. She will be dearly missed and we will all remember fondly our time spent together. We will especially miss her quick wit, feistiness, and beautiful smile. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Floyd and Shirley Kaisand (Grinnell, IA), and her siblings Floyd "Junior" (Grinnell, IA) Norma (Hudson, IA), Sibyl (Grinnell, IA), and Robert (Houston, TX) Kaisand. She is survived by husband, Robert "Bob" May; son Steve Gregory of Santa Monica, CA; son and daughter-in-law Michael Gregory and Michelle Hein of Danville, IL; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Joy Gregory of Omaha, NE; son and daughter-in-law Philip and Haydee Gregory of Omaha, NE; and six grandchildren, Victoria (9), Jason (7), Isabella (6), Jacob (5), Gabriel (3), and Charlotte (2) Gregory.
