Sally L. Blake, age 82, of Grinnell, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
As per her wishes, cremation was accorded and no services will be held.

Sally was born on December 26, 1930, in Rochester, Minnesota to Merrill and Goldie Irene (Postire) McCray. The family moved frequently during her youth and later she was raised in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1948.
On July 30, 1950, she was married to Richard C. Blake in Mason City. She was employed at Northwestern Bell in Mason City until 1953. The couple moved to Cedar Falls in 1953, and Richard worked for John Deere in Waterloo and Sally operated a ceramics store in Cedar Falls. Following Richard's retirement in 1987, they moved to Lake Ponderosa near Montezuma and later moved to Grinnell in 2006. Her enjoyments were fishing at Lake Ponderosa, traveling, watching the Young and the Restless on television, playing dominos, and making ceramics.
She is survived by one son, Rick (Judy) Blake of LeClaire, Iowa; one daughter, Beckey (Terry) Anderson of Grinnell; two grandsons, Ben and Alex Blake; and one brother, David McCurry of Le Claire, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard C. Blake; and her sister, Marjorie Solyst.
