Rosella Joan Scobee was born the daughter of Clarence Ray Scobee and Ella Fay (Rugg) Scobee on June 25, 1930, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was raised in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School with the class of 1948. She received her degree in nursing from Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Rosella was united in marriage to Glen William Dillman on December 31, 1950, at the Evangelical United Church of the Brethren in Cedar Falls. The couple resided and farmed near Montour, Iowa and then moved to the Gilman area, where they continued to farm. She was an only child and always wanted a large family. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Nancy, Jeff, Tom, William, Lori, and David. Rosella was a longtime obstetrics nurse at Grinnell Regional Medical Center who loved caring for newborn babies. She taught prenatal classes and also taught grief classes for those who suffered the loss of a baby; something she had experienced. She was a member of the Gilman UCC Church. Rosella held a deep faith and was very involved at the Gilman UCC Church. She was a social butterfly who loved visiting with people. Her enjoyments were having family gatherings, knitting, crocheting, watching soap operas and her favorite show Friends, and making birthday cakes for her family. She will be remembered for her strong faith, unconditional love of her family, for being a great nurse (Gilman's 911), and for the loving care and guidance she provided to babies and their families. Rosella is survived by her children, Nancy (Roger Ingraham) Dillman of Grinnell, Jeff (Sue) Dillman of Ames, IA, and Lori (Doug) Edge of Newton, IA; daughter-in-law, Dawn Dillman of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Dillman; and sons, Tom Dillman, David Dillman, and William Dillman, who died in infancy.
