Obituary

Ronald L. Graham, 46, of Grinnell died Friday, August 12, 2005, at his home of cancer. Funeral services for Mr. Graham will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 15, at the Grinnell United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ken Wallace of Jefferson and Jerry Laehn, retired, of Grinnell, officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner and vocalist will be Marty Duffus. Pallbearers will be Mac Ahrens, Mark Dimit, Mark Eckerman, Gary Halverson, Dave Kaisand, and Dan Sondag. Honorary bearers will be Bud Deppe, Monte Hammond, John Sampson, and Carter Thomson. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ronald L. Graham Memorial Fund. The son of Vernon and Phyllis Kirby Graham, he was born February 6, 1959, in Grinnell. He was a 1977 graduate of Grinnell High School and received an Associates Degree in Farm Management at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. He was married to Mary D. Schmitz July 14, 1979, in Grinnell. The couple made their home in Grinnell and he was employed at Hartwick Elevator for several years and then with Double D Feeds in Searsboro. He began working at Miraco in Grinnell in 1993. He was an active member of the Newburg-Chester Church and Grinnell Odd Fellows. He was also active with Promise Keepers and was a recipient of 'Leave It Better Than You Found It' award. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Grinnell; three daughters, Laura Graham of Newton, Patricia Stoaks and her husband, Cody, and Samantha Graham; his parents, Vernon and Phyllis Graham; one grandson, Skylor Stoaks; and one brother, David Graham and his wife, Deb, all of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Alma Kirby and Earl and Laura Belle Graham.
