Ron Beyer was born on December 25, 1945, to Harris and Marie (Van Zante) Beyer. He was raised in Sully, Iowa, and graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School with the Class of 1964.

On February 20, 1968, Ron married Judy Hull in Searsboro, IA. Shortly after their wedding, he was drafted into the United States Army, honorably serving for 14 months in Korea. Upon his return, Ron and Judy purchased a farm north of Sully, where they built their life together. In addition to farming, Ron worked at Maytag in assembly. Even after his retirement, he remained dedicated to farming, continuing his work on the land up until this past harvest season.

Ron was an avid sports fan with a deep passion for baseball and softball. He coached and umpired games and was a devoted supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the New York Yankees. Beyond sports, he took great pride in his family, finding joy in watching his children and grandchildren participate in athletics and celebrating their accomplishments. He also enjoyed detailing his cars and always keeping them as clean as possible in all circumstances.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Brian Beyer, Brent (Denise) Beyer, and Kari (Wes) Strong; his grandchildren, Claire and Brady Beyer, and Austin, Annika, Harrison, and Sullivan Strong; and his brother, Gary Beyer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Marie Beyer; his father-in-law, Landon Hull; and mother-in-law, Ruth Hull.
