Robin Kay McGehee, 59, of Grinnell died on December 9, 2020, at UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be designed to the family of Robin K. McGehee. Robin was born on September 10, 1961, in Iowa City, the daughter of Terry Lynn and Marlys Ferguson Matteson. She was raised in Grinnell and was a 1979 graduate of Grinnell High School. Robin was baptized at the Grinnell First Baptist Church. Robin moved to Marshalltown in the early 1980's and worked in several restaurants in the area. She was united in marriage to Larry Dean McGehee in Marshalltown and to this union they had a son, Ryan. Following their divorce, she later returned to Grinnell to make her home. Robin loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother to Ryan and his family. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and was considered to touch many other lives. She held a big heart! She loved camping and campfires, and fishing, especially with Ryan. She enjoyed the Art's, coloring, and playing word games. She loved listening to classic rock music, tending to her plants in her home, and held a major love for animals; especially her love for her cat, Ja'Taree and her dog, Tyson. Robin is survived by her son and his wife, Ryan and Megan McGehee of State Center; her mother, Marlys Klonglan of Marshalltown; three grandsons, Nathan, Gavin, and Brennan McGehee of State Center; three siblings, Cindy (Morris) Fricke of Gilman, and Mark and Emery Matteson of Marshalltown; seven half-siblings, Kevin Rhoads of Toledo, Tammy Norris of Albia, Lynnette Higgins of Wichita, Kansas, Lisa Buffum Stuart of Grinnell, Tammy (Tom) Cowell of Marshalltown, Deborah Chantland of Eugene, Oregon, and Steven Rieger of Windsor Heights; and many cousin, nieces, nephews, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her dad in 1994.
