Robert was born on September 5, 1941, in Moline, Illinois to Lavene and Winifred Beeler Kline. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. He graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1960. On June 8, 1963, he was married to Barbara Broders in Grinnell. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm southeast of Grinnell from 1963 to 1984. Most recently he was employed by the Kline Trucking Company of Montezuma. Bob was a member of the Good Guys Car Club and the Grinnell Christian Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a man of great integrity. His hobbies included driving his truck throughout the country, cruising in his '57' Chevy and raising Simmental cattle. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kline of Grinnell; one son, Larry (Lisa) Kline of Montezuma; one daughter, Deb (Dustin) Smith of Eagle Grove; and three grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Ryan Smith and Kolton Kline.
