Rebecca was on born January 24, 1951 in Fort Carson, Colorado to LaVaughn "Bonnie" and Phyllis J. Cram. She graduated Grinnell Senior High School and was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls receiving a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
Rebecca met the love of her life, David C. Hutchison, at a local dance in Brooklyn, Iowa and married on March 9, 1970 in Grinnell. They made their home in Marshalltown, IA where they had four children, Amy, Addy, Marc, and Michael. Along with 3 grandkids, Samantha, Alex, and Carter and one great-grand child, Josie.
Rebecca "Becky" packed so much life into her years. She traveled, was an AFS exchange student in New Zealand during high school, rode horses, went white water rafting, camping and hiking, had a green thumb in her garden, worked in a profession she loved as a speech pathologist at the Iowa Veterans Home caring for disabled Veterans, chased her dreams, and put one foot in front of the other while battling an incurable Alzheimers disease. She did so with faith, love, grace, dignity, and courage. She had a significant impact on the lives at the Veterans Home while deeply touching the hearts of all whom she came into contact during her life. Rebecca's greatest joy was her family creating lasting memories with them. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything as the love of her life. She was beyond proud of their accomplishments and prayed for them all of her life. Rebecca was a loving family person and devoted supporter of all her childrens' activities. She truly enjoyed embracing all the beauty of the great outdoors. She especially enjoyed her garden; gifted at arranging flowers, wreaths, preserving vegetables and drying various herbs. It would not have been uncommon to run in to her at the farmers market pedaling monster cookies and the various items from herbs to vegetables. Rebecca will especially be remembered for the unconditional love she gave to her family. Endless memories will forever be cherished by her family. Rebecca will never leave our hearts nor our side.
Survivors include her children, Amy Jo Dodd, of Marshalltown, Addy Marie (Chad) Hutchison-Brown, Plains, MT, Marc David Hutchison, Mankato, MN, and Michael Cooper Hutchison, Windsor Heights, IA; three grandchildren, Samantha (Nate)Judge, Alex Dodd and Carter Hutchison; one great granddaughter, Josie Wren Judge; one sister, Judith Anothayanontha of Wichita, Tx; and two brothers, Phillip Cram of Jacksonville, Fl, and Jeffery Cram of Sherman, Tx.; as well as many loving and adoring nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and loving husband.
