Following his education, he began working with his father for Blom and Criswell Painting, Inc. In 1992, he joined his father in founding Criswell Painting and Wallcovering, Inc. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Newton and was an active member of GYBSA.
Randy was a loving and devoted family man. His children and their well being were his life. He was a proud father. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball, soccer and flag football. He loved the competitive atmosphere of sports, whether it was outdoors on a field or in the confines of a gymnasium, and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Grinnell Tigers. While working with his father for many years, Randy knew the value of hard work, and his skills and expertise were valued by many of his customers. He held a genuine likeness and care for people, and his soft spoken, good natured personality will be missed by many.
