The daughter of Henry C. and Minnie Smith Mohr, Pearl was born November 19, 1910, on the family farm in Iowa County. She was raised on the farm and received her education at Lincoln #2 country School near her home.
On June 25, 1930, she was married to Clark Schafbuch at the Ohio Church Parsonage and the couple continued farming in Iowa county. She lived all her life on the farm until moving to Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo in 2003. She was an active member of the Ohio Church for many years.
Pearl was a hard working farm wife and was devoted to her family. She loved her life on the farm and through her examples taught her family a lot about life. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress and enjoyed doing all the farm chores necessary for a successful farm operation.
Survivors include two children, Larry Schafbuch and his wife, Marilyn of Ladora and LaDean J. Webb of West Branch; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Pearl died October 14, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son-in-law, Howard Webb.
