Patrick A. Thomas, 66, of Grinnell, died July 15, 2016, at the Grinnell Health Care Center. Visitation will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, at the Mills Christian Church in New Sharon. A graveside service and burial will follow at the Pleasant Corners Cemetery in Eddyville. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Patrick Thomas Memorial Fund. Patrick was born January 1, 1950, in Albia, the son of Charles and Nadine Meyers Thomas. He was raised in Albia and attended school there. He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy. On November 25, 1977, he was united in marriage with Joyce Hershberger, in Iconium, Iowa. The couple had two children, Brian and Sarah. They were later divorced. Patrick was a member of the Union Mills Christian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and traveling. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. Survivors include his two children, Brian Thomas and Sarah Thomas, both of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Charlie and Mark Thomas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
