Pamela K. Guthridge, age 63, of Grinnell, died on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Pastor Todd Follette officiating, First Friends Church in Grinnell. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Liberty Cemetery near Calumet, Iowa. Visitation will held on Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be designated in her name to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.smithfh.com. Pam was born the daughter of Harold and Margaret Erma Jean Duncan Smith on September 16, 1948 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Grinnell. Pam was united in marriage to Ronald L. Guthridge on June 2, 2005 in Sevierville, Tennessee and the couple made their home in Grinnell. She attended the First Friends Church in Grinnell. She dearly loved her family and held a special love for her two dogs, Lexi and Buttons. Her enjoyments included country music, dancing, jam sessions with her family, traveling, and tending to her garden. Pam is survived by her husband Ronald Guthridge of Grinnell; her daughters, Stephanie Puls of Modesto, California, and Shana (Chris) Caster of Alvord, Texas; her step children, John Guthridge and Shelly (Jeremy) McClaren; her grand-children, Brittany Stanhope, Tyler Caster, Saphire Sumrow, Josie Guthridge and Aaryn McClaren; her great grand-children, Jaxon and Cash Stanhope; her mother, Erma Smith of Grinnell; and her siblings, Roger (Jan) Smith of Grinnell; Connie Bailey of Phoenix, Arizona, Randy (Marcia Winningham) Smith of Kellogg, Iowa, and Jacque (Ron Dewey) Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. Pam was 63 years of age and was preceded in death by her father, Harold S. Smith in 1996.
