Nedra Ann (Hicks) Neville was born the daughter of Morgan and Viola Hicks of Malcolm, Iowa. In 1950 she married Wayne Neville, moved to Toledo, Iowa and raised Dawn, Vickie, and Wayne Jr. In 1995 she married Arthur Goeke and they moved to Grinnell, Iowa in 1999. Last year Nedra moved to an assisted living facility in Omaha, NE where she passed on December 22, 2024.

Nedra worked 20 years as Office Manager at Pioneer HiBred in Toledo until her retirement in 1986. Later she worked at Grinnell Reinsurance, and as Office Manager for Dave Hamilton in Grinnell.

Nedra loved her community, and no matter where she was - Toledo was home. She had many "second families" there. To name a few: coworkers at Pioneer, members of her beloved card group, The Trojan Inn family. All provided her with friendships and laughs that she always cherished. She was active in many community groups and in support of STC school activities.

Once married to Art, they began their season of travels together. Honeymoon in Hawaii, winters in Florida, road trips to the various children's homes. Nedra even went on an eight country European vacation with Vickie. And Nedra and her sisters were known for their road trips to visit family across the states.

Her interests included: the Iowa Hawkeyes, basketball, Dale Earnhardt racing, big band and country music, particularly Garth Brooks, playing cards, crafting, and most importantly she liked to gab. Nedra loved keeping up with her children, granddaughters, and their families. Nedra was known for her love of hosting social events and being on the dance floor. And there wasn't a holiday that she didn't decorate all out for. Nedra will be remembered as a strong independent woman.

She is survived by daughter Vickie of Omaha, NE and son Wayne (Ann) of Tipton, IA. Granddaughters: Katelyn (Samatha) Neville Springfield, MO, Angel Henry Farmersville, TX, and Ashley (Joe) Macoubrie Alva, OK. Great grandchildren: Tatum, Sterling, Raelyn, Clayton, and Cooper. Sister Shirley (Jerry) Carter and brother-in-law Thomas Varnum and many nieces, nephews and longtime close friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings: Leatha Hicks, Lorna Hall, Morgan Hicks Jr, Dorothy Clifton, and Ruth Varnum. Ex-husband Wayne, husband Art Goeke, and daughter Dawn Neville Henry.
