Juanita M. Davis, 87, of Grinnell, died on Friday, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Keith Morrison officiating. Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Scott Weaver, Craig and Galen Trucks, Michael and Jamie Olson, Michael and Matthew Mathes, Kevin and Kyle Gilbreaith, Joe and Jon Mielak and Nathan Loucks. Honorary Bearers will be her granddaughters, Angela Raue, Robin Isaacson, Heidi Ames, Shelly Allen, Kelly Moore, Katie Warning and Amy Mielak. Interment at the Pleasant Township Cemetery near Ewart. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home beginning 12 noon on Sunday and the family will be present at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorials may be directed to Grinnell Regional Hospice or to St. Francis Manor Activity Fund. Juanita was born on October 14, 1924, in Newton, Iowa to Willie and Cleo Warfield Morrison. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1942. On March 10, 1944, she was married to Millard B. "Stinky" Davis at her parent's home in Grinnell. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm south of Grinnell. She was a homemaker and mother of seven daughters. She enjoyed quilting and she made a quilt for each of her daughters and grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and treasured family events, caring for her pets and tending to her garden. Juanita was a member of the Grinnell Lady Elks, the Blue Point Women's Club and the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Rosemary Weaver of Grinnell, Patricia Trucks of Lenox, Iowa, Beverly (Tom) Olson of Round Rock, Texas, Catherine (Roger) Gilbreaith of Newton, Debra (Greg) Mielak of Grinnell and Jacqueline (Rod Robey) Davis of Grinnell; her cousin, Carol Osborn of Grinnell; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Nancy Mathes; two son-in-laws, Warren Weaver and Richard Trucks; one brother, Junior Morrison; and one sister, Estaline "Esty" Jensen.
