Misty Jo Reavis, 41, of Gilman, IA passed away at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Newton VFW Post #1655 for any and all friends and family to come.

Misty was born on May 22, 1982 in Newton, IA to Larry E. and Betty J. (Hesse) Reavis. She grew up in Newton and graduated with the class of 2001. Misty then graduated from DMACC with an AA degree.

Misty has two children Layla and Shayla.

Misty enjoyed cooking, drawing and writing. She also loved animals. Her biggest enjoyment was cooking a big meal for her family and watching food network while she did it.

She is survived by her daughters, Layla (Eston Ross) Reavis of Hawaii and Shayla Winchell of Newton; her sister, Amanda Reavis (Ramey Alter) of Grinnell and Lorrie Reavis (Brent Roney) of Newton; her nephews, Bronson Alter, Bentley Burtlow; and her nieces, Ryley Roney, Shevi Alter and Lara Burtlow, and many more beloved family members too long to list.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Larry E. Reavis and her sister Nikki M. Burtlow.
