Michael Coburn McElroy, 42, of Grinnell and formerly of Florida, died on Saturday, February 11,2023 at his home in Grinnell after a period of illness.

Michael Coburn McElroy was born the son of James Edward Hall and Virginia Lee (Householder) Hall on January 6, 1981 in Shenandoah, Iowa, where he was raised and educated.

Michael lived in Orlando, Florida and most recently in Grinnell. He was employed at JeldWen in Grinnell.

Michael will be remembered for being the life of the party, for being a huge University of Michigan football fan, and for always helping others in need. He held a special love for children, even though he did not have any of his own. His enjoyments were fishing and hanging out with his many friends.

Michael is survived by sisters, Patricia (McElroy) Masters of Orlando, Florida, Susayne (McElroy) Horton of Sidney, IA, and September McElroy of Shenandoah, IA; aunts, Donna Hall Aldaz and Mary Keesis, both of Shenandoah; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Hall; his mother, Virginia McElroy; his brothers, Billy Dalrymple, Donald McElroy Jr, and Richard McElroy.
