Michael Raymond DePauw, 75, of Brooklyn, IA, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2026 at Calvary Cemetery in Brooklyn. Smith Funeral Home is assisting with cremation.

Michael was born on November 9, 1950, in Grinnell, IA to Raymond and Norma DePauw. He was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from BGM High School with the class of 1969. Following his education, Michael enlisted in the United States Army serving in Germany.

Michael was united in marriage to Kathleen Grace Bair on June 18, 1986, and together they had one daughter Laura. Michael was later married to Pauline Ann Cline on May 6, 1995, in Brooklyn, IA. Michael worked with his dad at DePauw Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Michael enjoyed watching movies and playing pool. Most importantly he loved time spent with family where many memories were made at Sunday dinners.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Laura (TJ) Johnson of Woodward, IA; stepchildren, Allan (Brenda) Graham of Brooklyn, LaDonna Santosus of Brooklyn, Annette (Corey) Halsey of Guernsey, Curt Graham of Lynnville, and Brad Graham of Brooklyn; his sister, Kathryn DePauw of Cedar Rapids; nephew and niece, Joshua and Mariah Gilliland both of Cedar Rapids; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline in 2016; sisters, Devran DePauw and Bethany Hamilton; Grandparents, Edmond and Blanche DePauw and William and Beulah Roth, and a stepson, Mark Graham.
