Mary A. Wing, age 91 of Pleasantville, Iowa, died on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Brooklyn Community Estate in Brooklyn, Iowa. A private family service will be held to honor her life. Memorials may be designated to the Mary A. Wing Memorial Fund, mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 485, Victor, Iowa 52347. Mary Ann Myers was born the daughter of Leroy Harold Myers and Mary Marguerite (Cruickshank) Myers on January 11, 1928 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She was adopted by her uncle, Thomas Vrzal and aunt, Nellie Noreen (Myers) Vrzal at the age of 16. She graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1946 and received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines in 1949. Mary worked as a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for ten years and Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines for 18 years, prior to working at Valley View Village. Mary is survived by her sons, Wayne Thomas "Tom" (Debbie) Wing of Ogden, Illinois, Forrest (Donna) Wing of Victor, Iowa, and David (Cathi) Wing of Yale, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children, Kevin Wing in 1985, Melanie Wing in 2002, Mark Wing in 2005, and Kenneth Wing in 2006;
