Mary J. McMullin, age 74, of Grinnell, died on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Rose Blank, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. A private family interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Visitation will be held prior to her service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home.

Mary Jane (Bullock) McMullin was born on May 11, 1939, in Grinnell, Iowa to Lee Roy Bullock and Alzada (Manley) Bullock. She was raised in Grinnell and she graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1957.
She was united in marriage to Roger W. McMullin on June 12, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Grinnell. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Rachel. Mary was employed by General Telephone Company, St. Francis Manor, and Charnetski, Olson and Lacina Law Office in Grinnell and was a homemaker for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Trinity Circle.
Mary's family and faith were her life. She was very proud of her daughters' and grandchildren's accomplishments. Her enjoyments were gardening, reading, watching game shows and mysteries on television, and traveling, especially to Chicago.
Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger W. McMullin of Grinnell; two daughters, Sarah (James) Swinford of Carrollton, Texas, and Rachel (Glenn Ammons) McMullin of West Chester, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Henry and Cora Swinford, and Esmé and Graham Ammons; and her brother, Lee Bullock of Birmingham, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Harold, Robert and Margaret Bullock.
