Marion Jane Price, 81, of Grinnell, IA and formerly of Oelwein, IA, passed away on March 3, 2026, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, IA.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 am, on Monday, March 9, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, IA.

Marion was born on April 21, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Adolph and Clara (Zalinko) Yurchik. She was raised in the Chicago area and graduated from Tuley High School with the class of 1962. She then attended North Park College, graduating with a degree in Music Education with a voice emphasis with the class of 1967. Following college, she taught music classes at East Lydon High School in Franklin Park, IL, and at a number of schools in Park Ridge, IL.
On June 20, 1970, Marion was united in marriage to Richard Price in Chicago. The couple moved to Oelwein, IA, where they owned/operated Rite Price Office Supply for over 25 years. The couple sold the store in 1995.
In 2006, Marion and Richard moved to Grinnell from Oelwein to be closer to some family members. They joined Grace Community Church and were active members.
Marion had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She taught their Blue Front Amazon Parrot named Ricky many words and songs. They would visit nursing homes and churches and sing with Ricky. Once in Oelwein, the mail man knocked on the door to deliver a package, Ricky responded to the knock and clearly told him, "Come in."
Marion loved baking, cooking, and making mints for showers, graduations and weddings. She was well known for having friends and family over for coffee and treats. She loved to do crafting and gave away hundreds of her hand-crafted necklaces, which she accomplished even though she was blind and suffered from the effects of a stroke she had in her 40's.
Marion is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Yurchek and numerous nieces and nephews from Illinois, Iowa, and around the U.S. and Canada.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Adolph and Clara Yurchek, and her brother, Edward Yurchek.
