Marie Schultz, 93, of Victor, died on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Rose Haven Care Center in Marengo.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church south of Victor. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church.

Visitation with the family present will be held prior to the service on Friday from 9:30 am until 11 am at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Anna Marie Kruse was born the daughter of Ralph W. Kruse and Anna C. (Vercande) Kruse in Marengo, Iowa. She was raised near Marengo and she graduated from Guernsey High School with the class of 1948. She received a nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.

Marie was united in marriage to Kenneth Clarence Schultz on June 23, 1953, in Waterloo, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Steven, Michael, Paul, Susan, and David. They farmed in rural Ladora from 1953 – 1974. The family moved to Victor in 1974. Marie was a nurse at Marengo Hospital for over 40 years, retiring in 1995. They were longtime members of St. John's Lutheran Church south of Victor and Marie was a member of the Victor American Legion Auxiliary.

Marie's family was at the center of her heart and she cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren. She held a steadfast faith and was active in the St. John's Ladies Aide group, where she served as president. She spent countless hours doing needlework and was a member of the Heartland Quilters Club of Iowa County. She enjoyed gardening, wood working, bowling, and playing card with her card club friends. Marie will be remembered for being a provider and for the strong love of her family.

Marie is survived her children, Steve (Billie) Schultz of Elmwood, Illinois, Mike (Debbie) Schultz of Springville, Iowa, Paul Schultz of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sue (Les) Jacobi of Belle Plaine, Iowa, and Dave (Toni) Schultz of Ft. Worth, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Kenneth (Kendra) Schultz, Seth (Kelsey) Schultz, Amelia (Tyler) Busby, Jason (Sara) Schultz, Jenny (Eric) Ewers, Rachel (Zach) Wilhite, Sarah Schultz, Anna Jacobi, Mitchell Jacobi, Justin Jacobi, and Brooke Sederstrom; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Schultz; twin grandsons, Jay and John Schultz; and her siblings, Larry Kruse and Ruth Kramer.
