Born Margaret Marie Powell on July 10, 1940, Mom always preferred the name Peggy, or Peg. She had a unique childhood, being raised by her Grandparents, alongside her numerous Aunts and Uncles. I'd guess this had a profound impact on her personality, as well her overall outlook on life. Grinnell was her home, from beginning to end.
Peggy was married for a dozen years or so during the 60's and early 70's; however, she always retained her fierce independence. She was very strong-willed, and definitely lived life on her own terms, but deep down, she had a good heart.
She filled her days spending time outside enjoying nature and doing yardwork. In the evening, she liked watching movies, and had a remarkable memory of actors and their roles.
Peggy died unexpectedly at her home on August 28, 2021. She is survived by her son and his family - all other close relatives have long since passed. She was loved, and will be missed.
There will be a private graveside service. Memorials may be directed to the animal shelter of your choice.
Rest in Peace, Mom - I will see you on the other side.
