She was an active member of the National Hairdresser's Association and the Cosmetologist's Association, holding several offices in the area affiliate of those organizations. Margaret enjoyed her travels to Europe. Especially a side trip to Ireland, the home of her grandfather, where she kissed the Blarney Stone. She also enjoyed a trip to Hawaii and attended the inauguration events for President Lyndon B. Johnson in Washington DC. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. Survivors include two nephews, Chris McCann of Mequon, Wisconsin and Tom McCann of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Healy; and four brothers, James, John, Michael and an infant brother.
