Margaret Cadden, 87, of Williamsburg, died on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. A luncheon will follow in the Parish Center at St. Mary Catholic Church in Grinnell.
The family will receive friends at the visitation held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 am at the Smith Funeral Home.

Margaret Mae Fuerst was born on March 25, 1937, in Grinnell, Iowa to William and Mabel (Oltrogge) Fuerst. She attended country school and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1955.
On August 23, 1958, she married Raymond Cadden of Brooklyn, Iowa. They had four children: Mary, Karen, Kenneth, and George. They operated a grain and livestock farm in Madison Township, near Brooklyn, raising cattle, hogs, and dairy cattle.
After Raymond's death, she continued to farm with her son, George. She also attended and graduated from Marshalltown Community College with an associate's degree in Business.
On August 16, 1999, she married Marvin Brown of Pattonsburg, Missouri. They operated a grain and livestock farm, raising cattle. She had two step-sons, David and Richard. They wintered in Texas, where they made many friends from all over. After Marvin's death, she moved to Grinnell.
Margaret greatly enjoyed her family, farming, caring for livestock, gardening, cooking, going to garage sales, and spending winters in Texas.
Margaret is survived by two daughters, Mary (Jim Murphy) Oliver of Stewartsville, Missouri, and Karen (Mike) Timm of Williamsburg, Iowa; a son, Kenny (Diane) Cadden of Brooklyn, Iowa; step-children, David (Annette) Brown and Richard Brown; daughter-in-law, Judy (George) Cadden; grandchildren, Jennifer (Cory) Richmond, Stephanie (Dylan) Timm, Michelle Timm, James, Emily, Kyle, Eric, Brian, and Katelyn Cadden, Carson and Ben Cadden, Steven (Ashley) Brown, Craig (Heather) Brown, Christopher (Nadika) Brown; great-grandchildren, Dempsey, Evra, and Rooney Richmond, Aiden, Everett, and Maddox Brown, and Lukas and Callen Brown; and a brother, Bob (Maggie) Fuerst. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Cadden; husband, Marvin Brown; and son, George Cadden.
