Marabeth Van Ersvelde, age 59, of Grinnell, died Friday, August 19, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A funeral service for Marabeth Van Ersvelde will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. John Epperson officiating. Visitation hours will be held from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the family present to greet friends from 6 ' 8 p.m. on Monday evening. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be directed to the John Stoddard Cancer Center. Marabeth is survived by her husband Jerry of Grinnell; her son Kent Van Ersvelde and his wife Roxanne of Newton; and her granddaughter Kelcy Van Ersvelde of Newton. Marabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Francine Darrah Veerman; and her brother, Phillip Veerman.
