Lynn honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1971. Following his military service, he made his home at Holiday Lake. It was there that he met the love of his life, Donna (Wakeley) Coburn. The couple married on June 10, 2009, and together they enjoyed a beautiful life at the lake, especially their cherished evening golf cart rides to visit neighbors and friends.

A skilled and hardworking carpenter, Lynn spent many years self-employed in the trade he loved. He also proudly served as President of the Holiday Lake Fish Committee, combining his love of fishing with his commitment to the lake community. He was an avid outdoorsman who looked forward each year to fishing trips to Canada with friends.

Lynn was a member of the Brooklyn American Legion and the VFW, reflecting his deep patriotism and unwavering love for his country. He was a patient and devoted Chicago Cubs fan. One of his best days was witnessing the Cubbies win the World Series in 2016.

Lynn is survived by his daughter, Megan (Nivek) Kautzer of Brooklyn; granddaughter, Hailey Henry; step-children, Chad (Crystal) Coburn, Carla (Curt Funk) McClenathan, Joshua (Cynn) Coburn and Jessica (Joel) Lacaeyse; and his step-grandchildren, Cael Coburn, Layle (Drew) McClenathan, Ean McClenathan, Tyler Armstrong, Austin, Kaiden, and Olivia Coburn, and Kinze, Leyton, and Ilee Lacaeyse.
