Memorials: St. John's Lutheran Church, 2656 CC Avenue, Victor, Iowa 52347 Luella was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1920 in Victor, Iowa to Henry and Stella (Roshek) Meyer. She graduated from Guernsey High School in 1939. She then worked at the Brown Caf' in Ladora. She was united in marriage to Otto Fruendt on December 15, 1940 in Victor. The couple lived on the same farm for fifty-three years and Luella was a homemaker. Luella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Victor, where she sang in the church choir for five years and was active in Ladies Aid for over fifty years. She dearly loved her family and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, working crossword puzzles, and baking cookies, cakes and pies. Luella is survived by her son, David (Cynthia) Fruendt of Iowa City, Iowa; two daughters, JoAnn (Gene) Ketterling of Norwalk, Iowa and Marlene (Gary) Read of Victor; a son-in-law, Don Blunck of Des Moines, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Foels. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto Fruendt in 1997; her daughter, Audrey Blunck; her granddaughter, Michelle Read; her brother, Walter Meyer; and five sisters, Evelyn Kuesel, Loretta Waskow (her twin), Eileen Schlesselman, Mildred Allee, and Delores Meyer.
