Lois was born on October 24, 1924, near Deep River, Iowa to George and Martha 'Jenny' McWilliams. She was raised in the Deep River area and graduated from Deep River High School. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942, she was married to Wilbur G. Shine in Memphis, Missouri. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm south of Victor until 1976 when they moved to Victor. She worked in the food service of the HLV School District for many years. Lois was a member of the New Covenant-United Methodist Church of Victor, the Ruth Circle of the church and 4-H. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and was a beautiful seamstress. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Dennis (Patty) Shine of rural Victor; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Virginia Romberg; and one brother-in-law, Mel Uridel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; one daughter, Barbara Jo Johnson; her parents; and one brother, Keith Yeo. Memorials may be directed to the Lois Shine Memorial Fund and sent in care of her son, Dennis Shine, 2162 Poweshiek Road, Victor, Iowa 52347. The family will receive friends and relatives for lunch in the hall of the New Covenant-United Methodist Church following the services on Tuesday.
