Lois was born on May 13, 1926, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Clarence and Bertha McIlhiney Harvey. She was raised in Colorado and graduated from high school in Sterling, Colorado.
On May 23, 1949, she was married to Thomas E. Selle in Delta, Colorado. The couple lived in Delta where she worked for Western Union. In 1959, the family moved to Grinnell, Iowa to make their home. She was a homemaker and mother of three children.
Lois enjoyed reading and was a regular visitor of Stewart Library in Grinnell. She also enjoyed attending garage sales, solving crossword puzzles, camping and visiting family in Colorado and Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Selle of Grinnell; one daughter, Connie (Duane) Morrison of Malcom, Iowa; one son, Michael (Dorine) Selle of Holland, Michigan; five grandchildren; one sister, Carol Boyer of Montrose, Colorado; and one brother, Russell Harvey of Vancouver, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Catherine Jane Selle; one brother, Richard Harvey; and two sisters, Doris Sewald and Gladys Honeycutt.
