Lois Gayle Dietrich, 94, of rural Marengo, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the Ohio Cemetery, near Ladora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Camp Courageous of Iowa, P.O. Box 418, Monticello, Iowa, 52310-0418. On August 28, 1946, she was united in marriage with Clayton F. Dietrich, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a farm wife, devoted mother to her children and an especially loving caregiver for her son, David. Lois is survived by her children, Donna (Terry) Stewart and Dan (Vicki) Dietrich. Also surviving are her brother, Bill McKusker and sister-in-law, Betty Dietrich, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vera (Cooperider) McKusker, her husband, Clayton, her son, David, two sisters, Noreen Miller and Ardis VanHamme, two brothers, Carroll and Jack McKusker, a niece, Linda VanHamme and a nephew, Jim McKusker.
