Linda Prather, 77, of Newton and formerly of Grinnell, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Traditions Memory Care in Newton.

A private family graveside service will be held at Lower Bluepoint Cemetery southeast of Grinnell.

Linda was born on November 2, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Frederick Prather and Alice Jelene (Taylor) Prather. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School.

Linda worked as a seamstress at DeLong's Sportswear in Grinnell. She held a special love for animals and enjoyed sewing. She will be remembered for her loving and caring way.

Linda is survived by her brother, David (Carol) Prather of Victor; her sister-in-law, Karla Prather of Marshalltown; and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert "Rick" Prather.
