Linda Courter, 58, of Grinnell, died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at UnityPoint Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

A family graveside service will be held at Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Tiger Packs, a program that helps provide proper nourishment to Grinnell school children, and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112. Linda Jean Sheets was born the daughter of Larry and Janet (Hofer) Sheets on May 2, 1965 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Grinnell.

Linda worked at several area businesses, including St. Francis Manor, Van Wyk Freight Lines, Friendship Manor, and Grinnell Regional Medical Center. She also was a child care provider.

Linda's greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She held a strong faith and was a member of the Grace Community Church and later at Prairie Lakes Church in Grinnell, where she was baptized. Her enjoyments were bird watching, cooking, fishing, camping, and family gatherings. She will be remembered as a 5'3" ball of fire, for being full of love, and for always giving to others.

Linda is survived by her mother, Janet Sheets of Grinnell; sons, Michael and Brandon Stevens of Grinnell; grandchildren, Ari Stevens, Charli Stevens, and Sawyer Stevens; and her sisters, Rhonda Delk, Vicki Griego, and Patty (Rick) Shearer, all of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Sheets; and a step-son, Joshua Stevens.
