Lillian Claire Cooper, 91, of West Branch, and formerly of Iowa City and Grinnell, died on March 26, 2021, at her home of natural causes.
A graveside service and burial has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17th, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Lillian was born on May 14, 1929, in Grinnell, the daughter of Clarence Nathaniel and Eva Esther Tribby Cooper. She was raised in Grinnell and was a graduate of Grinnell High School, she furthered her education as a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Nursing.
Lillian lived in San Francisco and worked as a nurse there; she later returned to Iowa City and in 1971, she moved to West Branch. For many years she was employed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Lillian focused on her nursing career and her life-long work of helping others, this was her devotion. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and really enjoyed sharing her time with her great-nieces and nephews. The company of her family and friends was of great importance. She was considered a great cook, an avid reader, and she enjoyed doing her needle work and traveling.
Lillian is survived by several nephews and a nieces, David Hauersperger of Grinnell, Gregory Cooper of Cedar Falls, Mark Cooper of Ankeny, Todd Cooper of Centralia, Missouri, Michelle Cooper Bailot of Tucson, Arizona, and Jennifer Grunewald of Arvada, CO; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Harriett Hauersperger; one brother, Kenneth Cooper; and a niece and nephew, Brenda Farrell and Kenneth Cooper.
