Obituary

The son of Lee and Mary Ann Collum Cram, Bonnie was born October 27, 1919, in Brooklyn, Iowa. He was raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Brooklyn High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II and Korea. On February 11, 1942, he was married to Phyllis Helm in Brooklyn. The couple made their home in Grinnell where they raised their four children. He was the owner of Parish and Cram Refrigeration and retired in 1981 after being active in business for 30 years. Following the death of his wife, Phyllis in 1980, he was married to Pauline Walford-Pugh on February 13, 1982, in Grinnell and where the couple continued to make their home. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell and a 60 year member of the Grinnell American Legion. He was formerly active with the Knights of Columbus. Bonnie enjoyed the outdoors and held a love for nature. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and bird watching. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and good humor. Survivors include his children, Judith Anothayanontha of Wichita Falls, Texas, Rebecca Hutchison of Marshalltown, Phillip Cram of Atlanta, Georgia and Jeffery Cram of Mons, Belgium; two brothers, Delmar Cram of Humboldt and Robert Cram of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Betty Allgood of Grinnell; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Bonnie died October 9, 2004, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; and one sister, Frances Wilcox; and one brother, Raymond Cram. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Knights of Columbus
