LaDean was born on May 12, 1931, on the family farm near Victor, Iowa to Clark and Pearl Mohr Schafbuch. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural schools. On June 25, 1955, she was married to Howard Lee Webb at the Ohio Church near Ladora. The couple farmed for over 20 years near Ladora. They later moved to Ladora and she worked as a nurse's aid at Grinnell General Hospital and as a secretary for the President of the Iowa Manufacturing Company in Cedar Rapids. Following the death of her husband in 1999 she moved to West Branch to live with her daughter, Ellen DeMeulenaere. LaDean was a member of the Ohio Methodist Church and served as the church organist for many years. She enjoyed music and solving puzzles. Survivors include one son, Douglas H. Webb of Dayton, Indiana; three daughters, Janet L. Webb of Ashville, NC, Ellen J. DeMeulenaere of Iowa City, and Lisa (Tom) A. Boland of Columbia, Missouri; four grandchildren, Thomas (Katy) DeMeulenaere and Megan DeMeulenaere, both of Iowa City and Lucas Boland and Kaitlyn Boland, both of Columbia, Missouri; and one brother, Larry (Marilyn) Schafbuch of Victor. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The family will receive relatives and friends for lunch in the hall of the United Methodist Church in Victor following the funeral service.
