Kevin Lee Neitzel, 51, of Guernsey, died November 13, 2017, at Loring Hospital Emergency Room in Sac City after suffering a heart attack. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Guernsey United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Dauenbaugh officiating. A reception at the church will follow. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Kevin Lee Neitzel Memorial Fund. Kevin was born June 27, 1966, in Marengo, the son of Richard Lee and Bonnie Hall Neitzel. He was raised in Marengo and later Davenport where he was a 1984 graduate of Davenport Community School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On November 3, 1984, he was united in marriage to Michelle Sattler, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport. The couple were later divorced. Kevin lived in Arlington, Texas and was employed in the Coating Dept. of Tex Star, a military related company, for many years. He moved to Guernsey in 2001 to be near his mother. For several years he was employed at Stiches Galore in Kalona as a sewing machine tech, as a janitor for the BGM School District and Corner Stone Quilt, again as a sewing machine tech. He's been an independent sewing tech for approximately the last 10 years. Kevin attended the Guernsey United Methodist Church where he was a good volunteer. His passions were riding his Harley Davidson and music. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout the state, building guitars, working as a sound tech for several bands in the Quad City area, and machine quilting for others. He was always there to lend a helping hand as needed. He is survived by his significant other, Carrie Williams of Guernsey; his mother and step-father, Bonnie and John Morton of Guernsey; three children, Jesse (Sarah) Neitzel of Washington, Morgan Meador of Davenport and Josh Albright of Davenport; four grandchildren, Aidan, Wally and Harry Smith of Washington and Chance Meador of Davenport; his grandmothers, Betty Lou Kluber of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and Evelyn Neitzel of Grinnell and one brother, Jeff Neitzel of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard in 1982; and his grandfathers, Earle Kluber and Marlin Neitzel.
